Search bar in address toolbar

  sainty_boyo 14:23 21 Nov 2004

I am running Windows XP Home and use Internet Explorer 6. One of my family installed a smilies program for messenger etc. When it was installed it placed a search bar next to my address bar and I just can't get rid of it. I cant see the program in Add/Remove to uninstall it. Although I did delete a folder from Program Files.

*and quickly to save myself another post...when I log on to my account I have the language bar on my toolbar. I right click and uncheck it so it goes, but everytime I log on it is back. Is there any way to get rid of it comletely?

Try right clicking on the toolbar and uncheck everything that you don't need.

If that fails, make the internet explorer window small enough that an arrow should come up at the end.

If even that fails, scan for viruses, or scan with file assurity.

The last thing I could suggest is to re-install internet explorer
