Seagate "seatools" for testing hard disc

Has anyone used them, and if so were they useful?.

Also, are they non-destructive to existing data on the hard drive.?

Good, if nothing else works and depending on what the problem is.

I've used it to lowlevel format a seagate disk and it sorted some problems.

I use Data Lifeguard NT.exe from the Western Digital website, but it's basically a means of checking that the hard drive is in good order.

You'll find similar utilities on all the HDD manufacturers' websites.

All well proven by site members, use Maxblast3 myself as have two maxtor 120G drives.
