SD card reader

  logrin 11:39 16 Jun 2005

I have just bought a card reader to transfer my pictures from card to computer.
It is USB2, and I have XP installed.
The instructions say that all I need to do is plug it into the USB socket and the installed software will do the rest.
However I can't access the reader although the computer says it has recognised the new hardware. Where can I find the card reader on my computer and how do I get to see my pictures.
Sorry if I sound stupid but I'm just not computer literate. Logrin

Go to My Computer>right click>Explore and then look for a new drive letter.

If you already have a CD/DVD-ROM or rewriter it will most likely be D so you will be most likely looking for E for the card reader (some however use R to represent Removeable drive).

XP installs the drivers automatically for such products.

If it's a multicard reader (i.e. 7-to-1, 9-to-1 or similar, then you will see at least four new drive letters.

You'll have to click on each to find out which drive letter is used by the slot containing your Secure Digital card.
