Screen stays blank on bootup.

Although it doesnt happen very often, just occasionally when I boot up the screen stays black
and I cannot get beyond that point. I finish up having to turn off the tower and switch on again and it then boots up as normal. I have checked
the monitor connection. I am running Win ME.
Any suggestions please. Meshuga.

it could be that the monitor refresh rate, is at the limit of it's capabilities.

Have you tried turning the refresh rate down a notch?.

hey, ive had the same problems. Have you installed a new graphics card? if so this may be the problem. Try getting the latest drivers from the manufacturers website.

Thanks Tom 123. No I have not installed a new graphics card or anything else for that matter,
The monitor is a Time and I dint know if Time
make their own products or if they are made by
a third party so will have to enquire about drivers. Many thanks to U and Joe McG. Meshuga.

Sorry, mate, I was offline for a while there.

To change your refresh rate, right click on a blank area of your desktop and click on properties-settings-advanced-monitor, and adjust your refresh rate from the drop down menu.
