Screen shot puzzlement

When a screen shot is taken- alt print screen takes the whole screen whilst Ctrl printscreen takes the active window[or is it the other way round - soes not matter]The active window shot reproduces as it should
But the whole screen is cominup with the window and along side it the background image of the computer screen with no Icons - how strange is that?

Prt Scr - "What you see"

Alt + Prt Scr - Active Window/Window that has focus.

p.s. Running any eye candy software i.e. Windows Blinds?
