just purchased 19" flat screen moniter. whats the best setting to have the screen resolution on.

Whatever its native resolution is. usually 1280x1024

The answer I gave above assumes it is not a widescreen as opposed to a standard format.

Depends, if you are using it for games that have fine graphics, the higher the better, however if you are using it for general work [internet,office,email etc], the default setting will be OK

Also depends on your age and age related eye-sight, it can be better to have a lower resolution

You can stick with the native resolution and increase/decrease the text size as required in both Internet Explorer and Firefox (Ctrl + scroll wheel in IE and Ctrl + or - in Firefox).
