My dell laptop is running XP, on a lot of web pages, a lot of the type and boxes overlap each other, i have the screen set at 1280x1024, which is a sort of factory setting, anyone any idea why.

thanks

Think it should be 1024x768. Give that a try and see if things improve. j.

hi, the factory setting, as far as i can see, should be 1600x1200 on the 15inch screen, but i put it down to the 1280x1024 setting, when i make it smaller it all seems a bit fuzzy round the edges.....

15 inch tft screen 1024x768 is normal i think.

most 15 inch crt`s cant display higher than this either at 60hz

try installing the latest driver for your graphics card click here or click here

then click control panel/display/settings/advanced and set the resolution you want.next click control panel/display/settings/advanced/monitor

tick the box that says "hide modes this monitor cannot display" apply and ok.

choose the highest refresh rate available then.

As huggyg71 says, most if not all 15! TFT screens have a factory or "Native" setting of 1024x768. Reduce your resolution to this with a refresh of 60hz. reboot your Laptop and I feel sure that you will have an excellent display.

Give this a try and post back with the results. Regards. j.
