Screen Display locks

  Terry Brown 14:16 29 Oct 2005

I have just upgraded my machine with a ASROCK K7S41 mother board and I have a problem with the screen locking, for anything up to 2 minutes, then blacks out and continues normally, until the next time. (No data is lost)

ASROCK K7S41 Motherboard
2 x 215 ddr400 memory chips (crucial)
2 x 80 GB hard drives (approx 45GB free on drive C)
Graphics board NVIDIA RIVA TNT 64 (32 MB RAM ON BOARD)

The board is set to run at 133mhz, and have slowed the hardware accelerator down by about 25%

I suspect the graphics board is too slow for the motherboard, Please advise.
Thank You

Check all fans are running, esp CPU.

The VGA card is old, but shouldn't cause the problems you describe. Start Menu/Run, type DXDiag and run the graphics tests.
Does the PC do the same things in safe mode?
