School Wireless network

Hi, i have been asked to help out a friend to install a wireless network in a primary school.
The problem is that he has already had a go at getting it to work and cant get the PC's to connect to the internet or share files etc.

I am due to go and help on wed 25th may but thought it would be a good idea to get a better idea of what to do before i start.

Has anyone installed a similar network? or have any links to sites where i can read a bit further information?

I think the school runs either windows 98 or 2000. They will be around 20 PC's on the networks plus a few laptops.

I have studied networks at University, but have never actually had to do a hands on project of this size.

Help would be greatly appreciated

when you say this do you mean that he can get access to the network but not to the internet or files or that he cant connect to the network in the first place?
