Is there any way that I can schedule a program to close in windows or using some freeware; similar to how you can schedule a program to run in windows. (I have windows xp pro)

Thanks

On the setting tab in the standard Windows task scheduler there is an option to stop the task if it runs for a given length of time.

It works. I used to use it with notepad and a todo.txt file. I set the task to run for three minutes after bootup. If I edited the file within the three minutes it would prompt me to save before closing. Otherwise, it would just close notepad.

Ah yes, I didn't spot that. Thanks a load.

It's to be used for a backup program that starts up late at night and closes itself (after backing up) and then shuts the computer down for the night.

Thanks again
