Hi all-I have just downloaded an ebook entitled:- Update Your Computer Knowhow by Robert A Blake.

Contains some scary warnings but predominately endeavours to give practical advice on staying one step ahead of hackers and fraudsters etc.

Anybody read it? Have you followed its advice and are you happy with it?

I am non-techie but tempted to a) believe it and b) try to follow its advice.

Any comments apprteciated!

There are hundreds of books with this theme on the market. Following simple advice should suffice for most home users..

Use a Firewall Use a good anti virus program and keep it updated Use a good anti malware program and keep it updated Always log off when you use on line banking or credit card sites and never use these on a public computer Take care when opening emails from persons/companies that you do not know and never download and open attachments from unknown senders. Do all that and save your money buy not buying "help" books. Most sites like this and computer mags will normally be the best places to get help and advice.

No reviews on either of his books but at under £2.00, not much to lose.

Just take anything he says with a pinch of salt and do not accept his advice on Programs that might be beneficial, without checking up.

You could be buying an Advert for Malware
