Scanning slides with the HP Scanjet 3570c

  Eagie 19:54 02 Jun 2003

My Nan has just bought me a HP Scanjet 3570c so that I can scan in her collection of slides using the built in adapter.

However, when you look at the slide with the adapter lit up the picture looks bright and nice but when you scan it the pic looks a bit dull. I've tried adjusting the brightness/contrast/gamma etc but with the amount of noise on the scan the results are not great.

Has anyone else any experience of using this or a similar scanner? Any tips would be great.

If you want good scans from film, you will have to get a film scanner. There are many about, many quite expensive, some reasonable. My favourite is the Minolta Dimâge Scan Dual, III is the current model. Good price for a film scanner, good support from Minolta, easy to use, and excellent results.

The add ons for flat beds just done do the job.
