Scan text without ocr ?

Is it possible to scan text docs to word without running ocr, cos i want to run them through translater program, spanish to english, and the ocr is a nightmare on it.
win98 HP scanjet 5p.

No, you have to run an OCR program to convert the scanned picture into text before you can put it into word or feed it into a translator.

Sorry you are stuck until you have an accurate document from OCR.

If you only want to understand the average document in your native language, the cheap bundled program which came with your scanner might be enough, but for a rally accurate conversion you need a deaper dip in your pocket for good OCR software first. The translating will utterly depend on this.

You must have the Spanish recognition module installed in the OCR, or it won't recognise accented characters correctly, thus adding to the problems.

Use a different/better OCR programme first then cut & paste.
