Scan Disk

Hi all, when I started my computer this morning it automatically went through CHKDSK. There were no problems, but can anyone suggest why it might have done this.
Cheers Mike

I had a similar problem the other day click here which has not recurred. Perhaps the info given to me may help you.

Should have said; when I did a further search for info this `problem` can also be initiated if the PC goes off without going through the shutdown process (as in the case of a power cut or if you switch off at the mains) apparently. It was part of the answer click here about half way down.

Many thanks for such a prompt response, it looks like it was just a one off. I did a FSUTIL DIRTY QUERY C: and got the answer not dirty. I'll just monitor it and see what, if anything happens. I am well upto date with my backups should anything untoward occur.
It may have been a glitch in the shutdown proceedure as it did seem to take more time than normal.
