Saving links toolbar settings in IE7 using Vista

  estabond 18:02 24 Jun 2008

Have just acquired a new laptop with Vista Home Premium and Internet Explorer 7 pre-installed.

I can see toolbars for Menu, Status and Google but have to right-click blank area to tick 'Links' for them to appear.

However on closing and re-opening the 'Links' bar disappears (as does the tick).
Have tried both unlocked and locked.
Also amending the order of items in links is lost on closing and re-opening

I do not wish to edit the registry as I fear mucking things up.

Problem solved (see Vista forum) by removing Google toolbar and downloading an up-to-date version
