satellite on pc

Is there a genuine way to watch satellite tv on a PC.

I live in the United Arab Emirates and currently have no tv or satellite connection.

The service they offer is not very good and at the moment just use BBC I player.

However there are other channels that I would like to watch.

Many thanks.

You can get a few extra channels here

Just got ITV1, 3, 4 and some others. It's free but channels do vary a bit.

Other then that you could pay for a VPN proxy service such as

Not tried it myself as I have sattv in Spain anyway.

Thanks both for your advice.

I do have a VPN already, but didn't know that I could watch that amount of channels with it.

All we use it for is BBC I player and ITV.

I was initially with a company called banana VPN, but after that run out I found one called Lamnia that gives you UK and US for one fee.

I will have more of a read through the links you sent.

Are these satellite services anything like Sky or are they just basic channels.

click here Shows you what channels you get with VPN-UK.

No you probably won't get any Sky channels (except perhaps Sky News), as they're encrypted, and Sky are VERY fussy about people who rebroadcast their services.

Thanks for your advice.

I did want to try and get sky channels, but from what has been said it's probably impossible.

Thanks again.

You ain't missing nothing - I cancelled my Sky subscription about 10 years ago!
