SATA ports unavailable?

I've just purchased a new SATA Dvd rw drive, but cannot connect it for some reason. My motherboard has 4 SATA ports marked from 0-4.The harddrive is connected to number 0, then the first dvd dw drive is connected to number 1.I connected the new drive to port number 2 thinking there would be no problem, but the drive didn't show up in My Computer.I then entered the BIOS settings and discovered this following message under SATA ports 2 and 3."This SATA port is not available in this chassis".The strange thing is that when i continued to scroll down, two more SATA ports appeared as number 4 and 5, but there are no ports 4 and 5 on the motherboard!Surely you must be able to connect more than one drive to the motherboard, as it says so in the Dell manual.Any help with this would be appreciated, thanks.

Your BIOS won't support them...I would contact Dell and see if an upgrade exist's...The message suggest's that at present you can't use the other sata connections (which seems odd)
