I currently have a 40Gb drive in my pc, and i'm looking at finding a second hdrive. My motherboard supports Sata, but reading thro previous posts on the subject it seems this requires a windows reinstall to install the correct drivers, is this always the case, even if i dont intend to install the os on the drive?

Cheers

If your mobo has sata support the sata drivers should be on the mobo driver cd.
