I have this drive click here(Black)%20-%20OEMWhich is causing a small problem. For some or known reason its not showing as "DVD-RW" in my Computer instead its shown as "CD-ROM"Looking in Device Manager it says the device name as a CD-ROM Device.Any Ideas on this please??ThanksRob
Can happen if you have drives set as cable select rather than master and slave on the jumpers.
hmmm everything I know looks ok insideI have 1 IDE (DVD-ROM)DVD-RW Sataand 4 Sata Hard DrivesI did a bit of browsing on Google and this is a common problem.click hereThis happens when the "IMAPI CD Burning COM service" is disabled. Go tostart > Run and enter: services.mscScroll down to "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service" and make sure that service isrunning. If it's not, double click on that service and then click 'Start'.Make sure the Startup Type is set to 'Automatic'.This I did and upon reboot the service stops??
Does it read and write to DVD's? Mine show as CD-ROM and work fine with DVD's (all mine are SATA drives).
Not at the moment no. I think its died now!
