If I give my computer to a friend, how do I clear it of all my stuff yet leave it operational for him. I have windows XP home edition installed and 35gb of 75 are used.

you have your system restore disc that came with your computer? there is an option on that that says Restore or master reset, one of the two, select one of those and it will restore it to factory settings.

Thanks mossyboy, but will that remove all the games and programmes that I have installed?. I'm not really thick, I just want to be sure!!

Yes

If it's a restore disc supplied by the manufacter then it will restore to the original settings, including any programs that they installed.

If it's a XP disc purchased by you or received with the PC, then it will install XP only, you will need to allow XP to do a format to remove any other programs installed. If you just do a repair, then everything will be left on the PC.

Thats as plain as I can make it, hope it helps.
