In that huge list, two things are not defined....First do you use CCleaner or its equivalent justt to clear the temporary and internet files?

Secondly with a list like that, have you seriously tried limiting most of your stuff that loads when you boot up?

There's also the possibility that you may have hundreds of fonts after accumulating them over the years.

Sorry, I overlooked CCleaner which you did list!

One thing to check, if you have XP, right click on My Computer icon then click Properties and on the General tab tell us what it says under the Computer: heading .

yes that's it.

It means that you don't have enough RAM to run XP plus all the other stuff that starts when Windows starts. Windows requires 128Mb at least but runs better with 512Mb.

I am not an expert in laptops so I won't try to advise you what is best but it is clear that you will need to either simplify your setup or get some more RAM.

how would i go about simplifying my setup on me laptop... p.s thanks for the quick response

You need to reduce the number of programs and services that boot on start up. click here or click here for a list of whats really required.
