When I?m browsing the Internet, after 15-20 minutes I?m getting REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL message which shutting down the system. ?This system is shutting down, please save all work in progress and log off. This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTORITY\SYSTEM. Time before shutdown: 60 sec.timer, Message: Windows must restart now because the REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL service TERMINATED UNEXPECTEDLY. I tried everything in settings, my phone line is ideal, my antivirus software is up to date, but it restarting my system over and over! I cannot use the Internet properly, please help me.

with the infamous W32.Blaster.Worm virus.

click here for detailed instructions on how to remove the virus, and then download the Microsoft patch to prevent reinfection.

As a general warning to others: Do not open mail with attachments and a header that reads "That movie" or "wicked screensaver" or "Application refused" plus other tempting titles. At the moment there's a big 'second wave' of infections caused by this virus.

You dont even need DCOM running so shut it down:


Control panel


Administrative tools


Component services


Expand component services until you get to my computer


Right click on it, select properties
Default properties, uncheck ?enable distributed COM on this computer?
Default protocols, remove what?s there
