I am trying to set up a wireless network,to sharre my broadband connection.

However i have aquired a Wirleless router which has a Ethernet connection for the modem, and have a USB Modem. To get round this i have a USB/Ethernet Adapter, which connects both but the router does not supply power to the Modem. I have been given the adivce that i required a externally powered USB Hub, connect the modem to this and this directly to the router. Needless to say this did not work a i think the hub needs to be connected directly to the PC for the drivers to work.

If you have ADSL broadband delivered via the phone line, you need a combined "Wireless Router/ADSL Modem", which connects directly to the phone line and replaces the USB modem.

You cannot use a USB modem in conjunction with a router and it sounds as though you have a "Cable/DSL Router" which connects to a modem that supports an ethernet connection, in effect an NTL or Telewest "Cable Modem". This is not suitable for use with ADSL.
