Your stats look fine to me ... 8128Kbps Down and 448Kbps up is pretty good.

Which of the figures should I take notice of to make sure I know if everything is ok?

  Technotiger 20:37 20 May 2007

The up and the down are the two important figures - yours are very very good. Exactly as they should be for a 8Mb broadband connection.

Just checked speed at DSL Zone UK and got 26Kbps. Checked router stats and they looked the same except for Downstream Margin which was at 3db, is this significant?

Yes, your downstream noise margin dropping too low can cause your line to drop. This may be why you are experiencing such low speeds.

Try and take this diagnostic test click here if the results are still so low you should have the option of taking futher detailed tests on your connection.

Also it would be advisable to check your phone wiring as per the guide click here

Who is your ISP?

  Press Man 23:18 20 May 2007

Test = Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1352 kbps

ISP = Tiscali.

Phone wiring seems ok according to diagrams.

  Dipso 06:53 21 May 2007

That test result is absolutely fine, you are on the maximum profile of 7150 meaning you have the potential to download at speeds up to 7.150 Meg.

Unless your local telephone exchange is contended check this click here for VPN status RED I'm afraid to say that it may just be capacity issues with the ISP that are to blame here :(

Your noise margin dipping to sub 6 isn't great but as long as your line remains stable it's not too much to worry about.

VPN status is green! If as you say all is fine I shall tick as resolved.
