As woodchip says, we really need the details of your current router. Even then it would help to know your ISP because each one tends to set their own default user name and password (unless you have changed them - presumably not in view of your question).
Thanks so far. Yes--in previous thread ( that was vanishing in to the mist) Talk Talk have sent me all the new settings. Bit of a dissppointment as I understood that the router would auto do it. Presumably I don't have to be on line to change it?
Thanks and thank goodness for 'System Software' info. None of my written user names and p/words would work to access it. Remembered that had new router since recording the details and PC man had forgotten to tell me.(OR I had forgotten to note them more likely). Hopefully now I can do it myself on Thurs or Friday. Thanks yet again for all your help. mp
Now I know this may be the most stupid question ever, but where do I type in the router address if I haven't got a browser address bar. Or when it can't connect to the internet am I still left with an address bar on the error page? Thanks.
