Router or wireless adaptor - install which first?

  Pineman100 11:24 21 Mar 2008

I'm about to set up wireless internet access, using a Netgear USB wireless adaptor and a Netgear wireless router/ADSL modem.

The instructions seem fairly clear, except for one thing. Which should I install first - the router or the adaptor? Or doesn't it matter?

My instinct says do the router first, because otherwise the adaptor has nothing to connect to. Is that right?

Many thanks for any comments or advice on any related matters.

Yes, I would setup he router first. You have to set it up anyway by wire (ethernet) so may as well do it first.

It doesn't actually matter what order, but you will have to set the router up using an ethernet cable.
