I have just installed a Netgear wireless router ( DG834PN )which came with a wireless adaptor, if i use the adaptor do i uninstall the ethernet cable, or if not what is the wireless adaptor for.

'Do not' uninstall the ethernet, the adapter is there is you want to make a wireless connection to the PC rather than a wired one using the cable supplied. You may want to do this later if you want to locate the PC away from the router or visa-versa...

If you mean unplug the cable then yes once you have setup the wireless and encryption on the router you can then go wireless

If the DG834pn is sited next to your computer then use a cable if not go wireless.Of courses you can add more PC's/laptops to your network later
