Router distance question

I have a bt 1250 router in my office this also powers my Daughters system in the house that is some 40-50ft distance. We wish to move her computer into a room at the front of the house. When we tried this it will not pick up the signal. Can i use a more powerful router or as the telephone line runs through the house can i use a extension from the line indoors thus giving her a connection direct leaving my router to power up my office system.

directly to an ADSL line without an ADSL modem, and you can't use two modems on the same connection, so the ption to connect your daughter's machine independently won't work I'm afraid.

A wireless range extender would be the answer here

You could try and move the router to a more central location between the two computers.

Maybe try and get a better antenna for either the router, computer or both.

Would it be easy to lay down some Cat5 cable instead of going wireless?
