RIP and Xpath

  Graham. 09:55 17 Apr 2010

When on a troublesome page on my website I get a symbol and the letters RIP at the bottom of the page, above the notification area. If I click on the symbol I get options to remove elements, and a page listing Xpaths.

What is this, please?

It appears from your description to be an Add-on for Firefox click here which allows you to disable advertisements and other embedded parts of web pages.

Thanks, you are correct. The problem is this add-on appears to be conflicting with my web editing, making some parts appear as adverts which I can't get rid of.

Can you check if you get the RIP symbol on click here, please?

Looks like I may have to disable the add-on and re-build the page.

It doesn`t appear when I use your link - or in fact any page I enter that it is not enabled for.

If you right click the `tombstone` icon you should be able to enter the `Options` window and disable it from there. Hopefully his will cure your problem.
