Revert back to XP

I have a new laptop pc that came with windows XP preinstalled. I have a free upgrade to Vista offer , which I am going to use.
If I decide to install Windows Vista on my machine, then decide I don't like it , can i revert back to XP easily ?
Would it be possible to install Vista on a separate partition on the hard drive and have both XP and Vista with the option of choosing which OS boots up the pc ?
Thanks for any advice : ))

you need to goto to the windows.old folder where xp would have been backedup to and revert back to xp from there.
I dont know too much about it, just what i read on another web.

You could use the "restore to factory settings" to get back to XP.

if i use restore to reset factory settings i'll lose all my current data on the pc though ??
perhaps i'll stick with XP and save the vista disc for installation at a much later date when we all know how well it performs.

My brother in law has gone back a few times following his install. He has now got it working fine and he is sticking with it.

He used Acronis True Image to image his XP set up and simply restored the image to get back to XP.
