Revealing too much...

  djsew 16:44 19 Nov 2007

Outlook Express is my email application.
I frequently have to send messages to a large group, some of whom object to having their e-address revealed to others in the group; they see it as an infringement of their privacy. I have tried putting the group in the bcc: area but references such as ‘unknown recipient’, or similar, in the email address bar as received cause suspicions of spam etc!
How is it possible to send to addressees such that their name is revealed but their e-address is not accessible?

You put the group into the bcc - and you send the email to yourself.

You might like to set up a sending account using your own (or a special extra one) email address, but with an account name of XXXXX Distribution List - which will then be seen as the addressee - but they each get a copy via the bcc.

Thanks DieSse, I had already worked the first bit OK and I think your second suggestion will make messages lok more authentic. Cheers.
