You don't need an enclosure, just buy a cheap cable click here

I need to ask you how do I know exactly the right one for my hard drive. I see there are different connections on some of the leads

  Hetti 15:11 03 Dec 2007

my hard drive has three socket areas one has lots of pins like a scart, one has abt eight pins and one has four pins.
sorry to pester, but Im not at all techie.

The only problem is that the HDD is relying on the USB Circuit for it's Power Supply. This may, or may not, be adequate for an older HDD.

An External(Mains)Powered HDD Enclosure will act as a back-up Device for the whole life of the HDD it contains, which can be a good long time.

If I remember correctly it's 2.5" for Laptop HDDs and 3.5" for Desktop HDDs. I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong

There is a good picture of the HDD. I found it with Google
