Hi
I have an oldish Packard Bell that I got off my Dad. Its going to be used for the kids.
At present it is v slow and cluttered with his old stuff/programs etc. I am trying to restore it to its factory settings. However I am stuck.

1. I havent got the Master CD it says it needs. My Dad has no recollection of making one. Can i get one from anywhere?

2. he put a new motherboard in at some point. Will this cause problems?

i have a Windows XP (SP2) from my own PC, so can i just use this to re-install XP, but put the serial number from the packard bell in instead (or will the fact that this was for a SP1 version of XP mean this wont work?)

Any help gratefully received
thanks

A restore will therefor be a waste of time as it will have incorrect drivers for the new board.

should work ok
