Restoring missing "short cut to desk top" icon

  la la 20:06 07 Aug 2010

I have clicked on the white arrows and found the missing "shortcut to desk top" icon on the quick launch toolbar but cannot drag it on to the toolbar. I have tried to expand the toolbar but can't seem to find a handle to pick it up.

Any ideas ?

I assume you mean that you want to display the icon on the quick launch toolbar. Right-click on the taskbar and select Lock the Taskbar which will in fact unlock it - then with the left mouse button drag the two dotted lines to the right until your icon appears. Then Re-Lock the Taskbar.

I guess that worked then?

Why should you be bothered? You replied to the question, seems to have worked, and, just because you used your own time, for free, and actually bothered to reply to help someone out who was in a tad difficulty, you expect some form of a polite thank you?

What next I ask you? Grateful persons?
