restore problem with XP

  honda5 16:43 18 Feb 2005

Used XP restore wizard and it goes through the process but ends up saying " failed to restore" Tried this on several hi-lighted calendar points.
System Properties shows system restore is enabled .I've partitioned the hard disc with Partition Magic 8 , would this stop the restore working ?
Any ideas appreciated

It can't "restore" your system, because your registry hasn't been modified enough.... THIS IS NORMAL so don't worry...

If you intend to "restore" your system quite often, then use Norton Goback which does what System Restore only with better features and are alot more powerful.... The only downfall is that it can slow your system down abit...

"It can't "restore" your system, because your registry hasn't been modified enough" Hello mattyc_92, care to elaborate on that one?

System Restore works on the basis of if the Registry's structure has been changed in some way, then it will "decide" that it "can" revert the system....

I don't know where you got that from but kkerrong, sorry.

If you run registry change monitoring software it will not record any changes to your registry but you will still have restore points created at regular intervals
