Can i go back to an earlier restore point than the one the programme is giving me

Yes. Are you using Vista? If so, open System Restore, and at the bottom of the window, click in the box beside the words, "Show restore points older than five days". You should get a whole list of Restore Points.

Hi Pineman,

I do not have that option

You don't say what program you are using. And if it's XP, Vista or Win7.

If you're using Vista and that option hasn't been offered, then I can only surmise that you perhaps only have one Restore Point available.

Have you only just switched on System Restore? Have you severely limited the amount of disk space available to SR?

The answer to Sea Urchin's question is important.

Sorry about that Vista and no i have not restricted SR as far as i know

Do you not have the Show Further Restore Points radio button as here:

That should be Choose a different restore point

  Thereferee21 18:52 07 Nov 2009

Yes i have that option but only shows one restore point

  Thereferee21 19:18 07 Nov 2009

I cannot see any arrow anywhere in the window, am i missing something?

  Sea Urchin 20:18 07 Nov 2009

Think that's only on XP
