Restore Files Picked up by running "SFC"?

Hi,

Ive just run a system file check using "sfc" in the run box.

A couple of files came up as corrupted, but I did not make any changes since Im not sure what they are.

They are :

setupx.dll
EBAPI.dll

Should I Update Vefication Information, or Restore Files?

The following files also came up as having been "changed" :

MxlW9x.vxd
MslStack.vxd

Should I Update Verification Information or Restore File?

Cheers for any help - I really have no idea about system files!

Hi,

Anyone any ideas on this? Cheers.

The setup one comes up often, let it restore them as I see you are using Win98, Though you did not say

Cheers,

Yeh im using Win98.

Shall I let it restore them all, or just the setup one?

Both the above. some may have been changed by Software at it may not work correctly if you restore all. I would just do the Corrupt ones. Then if you have a Problem with Software you will have to rerun setup of that software

I would leave the two .vxd files alone - these are device drivers. Unless you are having specific problems that is.

Thanks for the replies.

I've left the .vxd ones alone.

I restored the setupx.dll one from my Win98 CD.

However, does anyone know what EBAPI.dll is? Its not on my Win98 CD since it would not restore from there.

Cheers.

Something to do with Epsom Printer software I think.

Hi,

Yes it is - I moved it from the System folder, and my Epson Status Monitor would not load on reboot.

Copied it back and "told" SFC not to pick up the file as an error in future.

Cheers.
