i have tried to merge two partitions, however, the content of the second partition seems to be caught up in a extended drive. Can I restore it, by re createing the drive of the same size.
This was done with Partition magic 8, howeve it does'nt want to undelete the change.

I couldn't quite make out from your posting if it was one hard drive with 2 partitions, or 2 hard drives.

I would be very wary of trying to resolve any issues that you had with attempting to create 1 partition, as you may overwrite some of your photos on the damaged partition. Not a problem if all your photos are backed up.

If you are using 2 hard drives, disconnect the secondary hard drive, just as a precaution to stop any over writing of data.

A link to 'recover my files' is here, click here this is a really teriffic piece of software for data recovery. The evaluation will only allow you to view what files can be recovered, the purchased software costs $67, but is worth it if you get your pictures back.

Specialist data recovery costs a fortune, but as long as you download any data recovery software to the first partition / hard drive, then you should not loose any data.

Hope this helps
