Can any one tell me exactly what consequences there are in changing your screen resolution?

It does look lovely in 1024 X 768 but what effect does this have on performace?

Does it put a strain on memory or processor or monitor or what?

If your eyesight and Graphics card can handle it go for it. Personally I use 800 x 600 but I'm old and my eyes ain't what they used to be. Also I guess it depends on what size your monitor is.

I don't think it effects the performance. If your monitor can handle it then its perfectly ok. I use 1280 by 960.

Hi Richard
If your using a TFT monitor its best left on its max
resolution thats what it was made for.

If its a normal monitor (deep like a TV) then its useable resolution depends on its refresh rate, ideally about 75 per second, much less and you'll get eye stain from the flickering. The greater the resolution the lower the refresh rate drops.
