resizing a gif

I have a downloaded (legal) GIF. I need to enlarge it. Everytime I try to do this it distorts the immage. Is there any way to enlarge but keep it from distorting.

try click here but it may be a poor quality to start with so errors will be magnified.

Try here click here if it's an animated gif, but bare in mind what johnnyrocker says about quality.

Thanks guys, I'll give those a try.
Allthough I use this giff on my website, I also want to use it as a normal picture, so if I re save it as a jpeg, would it still distort on enlarging?

Any image will distort to some extent when resizing, as the software has to guess what needs to go in the spaces.

Are you maintaining the aspect ratio when resizing? if you have not selected this option in software the image may become stretched in one direction
