Reset/memory problem ?

Having problem with new PC, since had it will not reset with the full 4GB RAM installed. But will reset with 3GB or less ram. The shop prepared to replace the 4x1GB with 2x2GB sticks on the assumption maybe a frequency problem, but just want to run past this forum for ideas. I have installed Sisoft Sanda and couple of things not sure about. Mainboard System Memory showing controller shows each bank has 1GB of RAM so that's ok, but the memory module showing PC2-6400 DDR-400 standard timings 5.0-5-5-18 which think should be PC2-6400 DDR-800(see spec below) and sandra has a warning W2542 - memory bus speed exceeds chipset rated memory bus speed - and that it's overclocking. Have installed the motherboard drivers but still no good. Any idea's.

Spec - Asus P5N32-SLI Premium, Intel Quadcore Q6600 2.4 Ghz, XP Pro X64 bit, NVidia 8500 GT SLI 1024mb, 700w PSU. 4x1GB RAM DDR2-800mhz

... just to clarify the Sandra Mainboard shows ram memory is 800mhz.

Memory is correct.

Do you mean that the PC will not start up or it will not shut down?

I assume you have installed the Nvidia drivers for the Graphics card?

thanks madboy33©®, yep ... had got sidetracked on the memory and forgot the Nvidia drivers. Installed them but still had intermitant restart problems, took out and reinstalled graphics card and seems ok now. Many thanks for help.
