Replicating photos

Hi folks,
Can anyone tell me why, when I delete photos that I no longer want on my hard disc, they keep popping back up, again and again. Its driving me bananas. I must have 6 or more copies of the same photo X a lot.

Once deleted....are you emptying the recycle bin.

No direct answer im afraid.

Hi skidzy, thanks for quick reply.
No, I did not empty the recycle bin. I'll try doing that & see if it solves the problem.

Do you hold control down when you highlight the pics?

  chews 23:21 18 Jul 2007

Yes, to get rid of them in bulk I've used Ctrl.

Further to my last post. As fast as they're being deleted, a little box is indicating that they are being replaced.

When you use control it can do this, there is supposed to be a way to use control and not get copies. I usually end up with loads of copies also.

The "little box indicating they are being replaced" is it a windows box or a third party software box?

When you hold down the control key and click and if your finger slips, you'll end up copying the ones you've highlighted. Annoying - I do it all the time.

Hi acxxxx,
I'm pretty sure its a windows box.
I have got rid of all the excess ones now by painstakingly deleting them one by one. There were 676, now my original 208. It took ages.

Hi Kate,
I have never been aware of doing this but I'll watch out in future. It is really infuriating.
