Replacing HP Printer

  Splodge 14:27 14 Mar 2004

My HP printer Inkjet has finally broken down.

Unfortunately I have massive amounts of refill ink and a new HP colour cartridge No 45.

Can anyone point me to a current HP printer which uses No 45 (C6578D) and is refillable or a reasonably priced printer which is not chipped and can be refilled?

Keep the suggestions coming please, I will have to buy one tomoorow.

Thanks a lot.

Splodge. Have you got that right? What model HP printer do you have. I have an HP 815c which takes cartridge No. 45 but it's black, not colour? The colour cartridge C6578D is No. 78?

Sorry PJ123 I took the number down but guessed wrongly it was the colour.

I had the Deskjet 971CXi. Is your model still on sale? And can I refill?

i use the 970 CXI and it takes the 45 and 78 cartridges.

At work we now use the 990CXI because it takes the same cartridges.

I have one still sealed 990cxi that i was thinking of selling.

if it would help you please get in touch.

How do I contact you?

Splodge. Sorry, no unfortunately. It has been superceded many times now. I don't use it at all anyway. I now use Epson printers, better quality (my opinion) and replacement ink cartridges (chipped) so much cheaper from Choice Stationery at click here I used to do refills but so messy. Looks like it might be a "cut your losses" and use Choice Stationery for replacement ink in the future. I have an Epson Photo 915, a C44UX and a C64. All of which are chipped but the 915 and C44 25.49 for 4 black and 4 colour and the C64 is 17.95 for a pack of "1 of each" ie. 1 black, 1 cyan, 1 magenta and 1 yellow. Can't get cheaper than that.
