Replacing Hard Disc

My HD (40G) is full and I want to replace it with one at least twice this capacity. Installing the hardware is straightforward but I need guidance on formatting and how to copy the contents of existing drive to new one. Anyone suggest a good online guide?

Then put your old HD as slave and copy your files, but you can't copy applications they have to be reinstalled on your new drive unless you use a program such as XCopy
