please can anyone reccomend a replacement motherboard for a Leadtek winfast K7NCR18D - Pro which I believe has just given up the ghost!
My current system is as follows:
Tagan 580W PSU
AMD Athlon 2800XP CPU
2 x 512MB PC3200 DDR 400 Ram
120 GB Hard Drive
PNY Geforce graphics card (6600 I think) AGP
Audigy 2 Soundcard
PCI Fax Modem (not currently used)
DVD ROM, CD Rewriter and Floppy Drive

would be grateful for any advice, as I need to get this computer up and running asap.

580W PSU seems quite large for this MOBO and specs you gave mine is only 350W.

It's in there at the moment because I had this PSU spare (bought it for my first build last summer, but wouldn't fit well into the case!!)and when the pc died it was easiest to see if it was the PSU first. Also meant I could check all connections at same time. Still have the old PSU tho' it's a QTechnology 400W.

Your present motherboard click here. Socket A, with 8X AGP, 4 PCI, DDR sdram, and SATA.

This one click here should match yours quite well.

You may get away with a repair install of the operating system or better still, start from scratch.

Given that’s it’s an obsolete motherboard, you might have problems getting hold of a replacement?

But if you’re after getting something cheap and cheerful to tide you over, perhaps this might fit the bill?

Thanks for the replies, ed-0 I'm going to go for your suggestion as the review looks good

I built a PC last year for my mates kids using that board and an old socket A processor I had lying about and it runs fine. Lots of good facilities on it for the money. Never used the RAID yet but have used the SATA.
