Replacement hard drive

Have a pent 3, win 98 2nd E with a 12 gig hard drive and want to add a new hard drive - what drive can I install - will i have to update bios etc

Not necessarily, I would think you would be OK to at least 40Gb but there is only one way to find out

try installing it as a Slave drive to the old one then in Explorer just right click the drive like a floppy disc and choose format

It may be a 'cable select' system i.e. the IDE position on the cable for the drives.
If so set jumpers on new drive to cable select, check you PC doc's
