Replacement for ATI Radeon 9800 Pro ?

  paul654 14:04 06 May 2009

I have a fairly old (2003) PC with an Asus A7N8X motherboard (2GB Ram) and Ati Radeon 9800 Pro GPU. The graphics card is starting to fail so I need a replacement. Can anyone suggest a card as good or better than the 9800, it will have to fit the AGP slot on my motherboard(it doesn't have a PCI Express slot)...are such cards still available? It would be a shame to buy a new PC as I only use it for browsing the web and playing the odd game.

just one last thing, check your psu wattage. You will need at least 400w for the 3850 I think. Best check before u invest.

Forgot to mention that the PSU in my Mesh PC is only 340W, 17Amp @ 12v so not sure if this would cope with a 512MB card. Would I be ok with a 256 MB card such as the 'Sapphire HD 2400Pro 256MB '?
