Advice please, Have a new laptop which has Vista basic installed. It came with a 90 day trial Mcafee suite which seems good but I have the option of loading a years Norton 360 (paid for)

Q Can't see anyway of uninstalling Mcafee - either within its self or within control panel. Is a removal tool the only way?
Also I would like to download Norton to desktop, close the internet connection, remove Mcafee and then instal Norton. Is this reasonable/viable.
Thanks for looking.

Use the removal tool, CCleaner while excellent does nothing more than control panel Add/Remove Programs in that regard.

The link above will work, but it has to be uninstalled in Programs and Features first. Are you sure it's not there, because I've got it, and mine was preinstalled.

Bewteen the two though I would stick with McAfee. Purely a personal opinion.
