Replace Hdd

Hi All,

Does any body know how to get to the hdd of an old laptop I have. It still works perfectly (battery knackered) but the hdd is a bit small (6gb!!) I have a spare 20Gb disk handy but I cannot work out how to get to the installed disk.

The laptop is a Packard Bell Easy One 1550.

It should be behind a Plate with about two screws in edge of Laptop or at the bottom. The Hard drive you have got may not be seen by the BIOS as it's a old Computer. you can overcome it if the Manufacturer as a Drive Overlay Software Program, You would have to check in their downloads if it does not work

Normally a little clip that slides across and pull the drive out within its caddy or underneath the lappy.

Thanks for the replies but the only cover plates on the bottom are for the RAM and modem.

Have a look on the side of the lappy,as ive pointed out earlier a little clip that needs sliding and pulling..might be little tough but will be ok.

Ok, problem solved. Three screws on the bottom at the front of the laptop release the palm support/mousepad. Hdd is underneath. Cheers all.
