repairing windows xp

Can anyone advise me how to repair my windows xp system?
Yesterday, whilst mucking about,I downloaded a programme called Red dragon in order to clean my hard disk of any confidential material and embarrasing internet sites(inadvertently visited).
Not paying attention,I deleted all images stored in xp.
Now it looks like I've lost all the wallpapers etc. that were preloaded and goodness Knows what else.
My pc came preloaded with xp so Ihave no CD to reinstall it and would like to avoid buying another.

I'm a novice at computers,so can anyone advise me.

Sometimes programs like the one you were using, makes a backup file which you can open and restore the things you deleted.

worth checking. otherwise follow sicknote advice
